Fine Art Photography by Greg Myhra - I have long had an affinity for vintage racing machinery. The lines of classic sports cars and nostalgic dragsters are the epitome of industrial design to me. Images of these vehicles are a celebration of a time when it was more important to wield a hammer and a grease gun than be a master of CAD/CAM. To give these vintage auto racing photos and drag racing photos a more period look, I made the decision to rely heavily on my Holga plastic cameras, with all of their inherrant lens flare and light leaks. That, to me, represents a fan's images taken with a Brownie camera from when many of these cars first raced. In fact, during one assignment for a story on Carroll Shelby, my final images of Cobra GTs were deemed too similar to vintage photographs used elsewhere in the story. The editor ended up using some of my more contemporary color images of that event so as not to confuse the audience.
